Racial policies limiting land access and food, along with disrupted families and limited opportunities, disproportionately affect African American/African Immigrant and Native American/Alaskan Native health. Given WIC’s crucial role for these communities, it’s vital to provide culturally inclusive services. This session highlights the need for culturally-specific approaches to fulfill WIC’s mission for low-income women, infants, and children up to 5 years old. It offers strategies to empower staff, focusing on nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and leveraging partnerships effectively.
