Since 2014, Latino Conservation Week has supported the Latino community getting into the outdoors and participating in activities to protect natural resources. Led by Hispanic Access Foundation, Latino Conservation Week: Disfrutando y Conservando Nuestra Tierra happens each year in July.
During this week, community, non-profit, faith-based, and government organizations and agencies host events to encourage conservation efforts in their community and provide an opportunity for Latinos to show their support for permanently protecting our land, water, and air.
Today, we’re excited for the “Conservando Nuestras RaĆces- celebrando our zero waste roots” Panel at 4 pm PT with Love Sanchez, Indigenous People of the Coastal Bend; Magda Donoso, GAIA + BFFP Latin America; William Estrada, Chicago artist and educator; Yvette Arellano, Fenceline Watch; and Isaias Hernandez, Queer Brown Vegan.
