During this session, registered dietitian and founder of the Food Dignity Movement, Clancy Harrison, will share strategies for sparking engaging conversations that seek to uncover hidden signs of food insecurity as well as barriers to access and care. Clancy is committed to empowering nutrition care providers to become change agents to help put an end to food injustice and the paradigms that propel it. During this presentation, participants will learn three key strategies to drive successful conversations that build trust and improve outcomes, and will also learn how to identify assumptions and misconceptions associated with nutrition insecurity that may create unintentional barriers to progress and care. Attendees will walk away from this session with a new perspective, and enhanced understanding of ways to implement engaging conversations to inform more accurate assessments and interventions for those who are nutritionally under-resourced.
