In honor of Black Maternal Health Week, this is a presentation about my own personal birth experience and the difficulties I had with the health care system throughout my pregnancy, during my birth, and after delivering my daughter. During this presentation, I will discuss how my work with WIC helped me to advocate for myself and find alternative solutions to many of the limitations I experienced. I will also highlight how WIC professionals can be an ally to Black birthing families.
