BPC’s Behavioral Health Integration Task Force will release a new report on March 31 with recommendations for breaking down barriers to integrating primary and behavioral health care. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated America’s mental health and substance use problems that were already significant and highlighted the enormous unmet need for services. Research shows that integrating primary care and behavioral health services enhances access to care, improves treatment outcomes, reduces health disparities, and is cost-effective.
