The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is widely recognized as an important safeguard for protecting and improving the health and nutrition of pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to the age of 5, providing nutritious foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to health care. Traditionally, WIC has had bipartisan support to improve and fully fund the program. Yet with recent funding fights and public benefits under attack generally, we need to safeguard this essential program. Join FRAC to learn about the importance of WIC, the challenges the program faces, and how you can be prepared to take action.
