Purpose: One out of every 100 deaths from an obesity-related disease is caused by sugary drink consumption. The National Center for Health Statistics reported in 2010, sugary beverages like soda, fruit drinks, sports drinks, sweet tea, and energy drinks accounted for 46% of all added sugars in the American diet.
