Extending WIC’s Postpartum Care: Setting the Stage for Healthier Outcomes

The Wise Investment in our Children Act (WIC Act) includes a provision that would extend postpartum eligibility for WIC to two years, delivering sustained nutrition support during the interpregnancy interval. This significant measure to improve maternal nutrition will result in healthier pregnancy outcomes and build on WIC’s success in addressing chronic diet-related conditions that fuel national healthcare expenditures.
