Massachusetts Participant Testimonials 2017

“I applied when I had my baby. I was not on WIC while I was pregnant so I missed out on the breastfeeding classes. As a first time mother, WIC was very helpful. WIC staff helped me with tips on how to store my breastmilk so that I could return to work and continue breastfeeding. I returned to work when my baby was 6 months old and I continued to breastfeed until he was 8 months old. WIC also offers cooking classes that are awesome. The foods smell good and the classes can teach you a lot.” — WIC Participant, Massachusetts

“Mostly it’s the recipes they provide me with that help get the kids interested in fruits and veggies. I also love how the team is available anytime for questions. For example, Are lentils okay for the baby?, Can I give my five month old honey?. I love the way they provide me with honest feedback. Healthy Feedback. And I never feel stupid asking a question even though it’s my third child. Nutrition education is so important to a young mom on a budget. They provide me with helpful hints on keeping it healthy, yet affordable.” — WIC Participant, Massachusetts
