“I met a nutrition coordinator at a cake shop in Rhode Island and she encouraged me to come into the office. I was struggling financially and honestly had thought of WIC, but put it on the back burner. My primary opposition was I thought WIC was more for formula and I was strictly breastfeeding. I had no idea how much support WIC had for breastfeeding and how breastfeeding friendly WIC was. My breastfeeding peer counselor was a huge support and checks in with me whether or not I call. She also helped me get on State Insurance for my children and myself while pregnant. The personal support the WIC staff have given me, and helping me with financial solutions, has been overwhelmingly amazing and truly exceptional.
