Revised WIC Food Package and Children’s Diet Quality
Following the WIC food package revisions of 2009, diet quality of WIC participating households was measured before and after policy implementation to assess the progress of the policy. Using Healthy Eating Index (HEI) scores, they found that the changes to the WIC food package did result in higher diet quality of WIC children.
