By Gabby Underwood, Danielle Lee, Christina Chauvenet, Lorrene Ritchie, and Loan Kim
This research brief uses data from the 2021 Multi-State WIC Participant Satisfaction Survey (MSS). The MSS evaluated participants’ experiences and satisfaction with interactions and appointments with WIC, shopping for WIC foods, and using the WIC Card and App during the COVID-19 pandemic to inform future policy and operational decisions. The survey was administered by 12 WIC state agencies with a total of 26,642 participants. It included an open-ended question which asked participants to share any feedback about their WIC experience. This brief includes analysis of the 7,831 responses (in English and Spanish) to the open-ended question. This brief is a collaboration between the National WIC Association and researchers from Pepperdine University and the Nutrition Policy Institute.
