By Pan L, Freedman D, Park S, Galuska D, Potter A, Blanck H

WIC Participant and Program Characteristics data was analyzed by researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The analysis found that for children between the ages of 2 and 4 years-old, the prevalence of obesity decreased from 15.9% in 2010 to 13.9% in 2016.

The authors of the report, conclude that possible reasons for the decline include revisions to the WIC food package and state, local and national initiatives.
