WIC’s Doors Remain Open: An Update on Immigrants’ Rights to WIC Benefits and How to Handle Participants’ Concerns

During this webinar, NWA and the National Immigration Law Center (NILC)  provided an update on immigrants’ rights to WIC benefits. The panelists discussed the status of the leaked executive order concerning public charge, what is already happening in WIC as a result of hostile rhetoric and leaks, and how frontline WIC staff can communicate with participants and potential participants about this issue. The webinar also went over WIC participant confidentiality rules and how state and local WIC staff can get engaged to make sure WIC’s doors stay open to all eligible participants.
